They say they eat bamboo 16 hours a day, and sleep for 8 hours.

There’s more to Chengdu than panda bears, though. The Wenshu Temple (or monastary) does not allow photography. They have a giant jade Buddha from Myanmar. I have never seen anything like it.

They call the panda bear installation the “panda base”. They do not take in wild pandas unless they are injured, but they do train some panda bears to return to the wild. There are about 230 pandas in the panda base, and about 800-900 in the wild.
