Valparaíso and Ritoque

Surprisingly left-wing.

After Valparaíso, we visited Ritoque. It was a socialist vacation resort under Salvador Allende. It still has that vibe, even though the cabins are gone. It’s a people’s beach.

We told our host in Ritoque that we were planning to visit Ciudad Abierta (Open City). He told us that many cars get broken into there, so to park at the neighboring Go-Kart track and walk up the train tracks.

The advice to walk up the train tracks was good, but it turns out there are actual trains.
